Mailing Valuable Packages- Old School

Apparently, Parcel Post was started in 1913 and at least two families used the service around 1914 to mail their children.  Yes, you read that right.  The parents affixed the postage onto their clothes and off they went. It was less expensive than a regular train ticket.  Shortly after hearing about this, the Postmaster General stamped out this option.

Love this photo, but can you imagine?
