Growing Crazy Mushrooms ...

I think I have mushroom envy.  My friends are posting photos of purple, green and multihued mushrooms from their yards.  Honestly, I was feeling kind of left out.  Oh yeah I have a few mushrooms, but they're brown, and kind of look like pancakes that have set out too long.  So what does a glass artist do?  Well of course, we make what we don't have.  I decided to make some with faces.  Why not?  This blue one is hanging out on my tree roots with some moss.  A perfect place for him.

...and he needed someone to keep him company, so this one has little arms and pink cheeks.  Must be a younger version.

Have to say I was fully entertained making them, but I need to get back to my usual lampwork glass beads.  Please follow me on Instagram - @MarcyLamberson  or on Facebook @StudioMarcy

Who Says Mushrooms Need a Dark Place To Grow?

I love nature and I love cool lighting and when the two are combined, it makes me swoon.  So when I found this lamp using mushroom shaped LED's  combined with driftwood, I fell in love.

Unfortunately, I can only give you the website and not more information.  I don't read Japanese.  And if you know my work, I'm sure you can guess that I'm just itching to place a small gnome bead underneath a grouping of these cute 'shrooms.

Colorful Exotic 'Shrooms

According to my online "sources", these two mushrooms are real. I am bummed that they didn't tell me what kind they are. But I still think they would make cool beads whether real or not.

If you know anything about mushrooms, or fleshy, spore bearing bodies of fungus, please feel free to post and tell me about it. I sure think they're pretty.

And while you're reading this, I am debating whether to go sky diving today. It's my husband's birthday and he and my son have it planned. I'm either watching or participating. Cross your fingers for me just in case I have enough courage.

See you tomorrow...I hope.
