OMG! Goes Way Back In History

OMG! So who knew that Winston Churchill had someone say OMG to him back in 1917?  This letter was recently revealed.  It's always said that it's hard to be original.  I guess this just reinforces what we know.  Read on...looks like Lord Fisher likes to use exclamation points a lot too.  Thanks to Lost At E Minor for the information.

Perfectly Timed

"The ducks asked me to tell you that they don't particularly like you."

If you haven't wasted a little time at www.perfectlytimedphotos.com, it might be a fun distraction.  Yes, there are the typical off color joke photos, but also plenty of other ones, depending upon your sense of humor.

Here is one of my other favorites...
I believe the word "karma" was in the caption somewhere.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Catch you tomorrow!

Quick Giggle

Here's a quick giggle... saw this tee shirt and it's somehow connected to Evian water.  I thought it was brilliant.  What a smile.  Hope this unlucky day is lucky for you!

Blues Name

I saw this on Facebook. (How many times have you heard that one?)  Anyway, it was mildly amusing and perfect for a Friday afternoon when you're ready for the work week to slow down.

So what is your blues name?  I'm "Jailhouse Killer Parker" which cracks me up.  I'm about as far from a jailhouse or killing as you can get.  So of course, it's perfect

I'm waiting to hear some good ones.  So post 'em here and let's see how funny you can get.

See you on Sunday.  http://www.studiomarcy.blogspot.com

If You Bead, You Have To See This...Beaded Laughter

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.  Pop over to my friend, Sylvie Lansdowne's funny new blog...and be ready to smile.  (I'm thinking I might need to print this photo!
Just click here to go...hurry!

Darwin Does It Again

Okay, I admit it.  I have some serious geek genes in me and when I saw this iPad or Kindle cover, I was totally amused.  I've always been a book-o- phile, (okay that isn't the correct word, but I make 'em up when I feel like it).  And this seems to hit a couple of my "likes".  books, iPads (please Santa, I've been good and really, really want one), and sense of humor too.  Nice!

It's on one of my favorite websites and catalogs, Uncommon Goods.  If you haven't visited there before and you have a quirky sense of humor, you might consider stopping by for a peek.  And then feel free to comment and tell me what you saw there that you like.  I always love hearing from you.

See you tomorrow with some glass news.

Napolean Joins The Ranks

Ah, bonjour.  I wanted to present to you Napoleon, one of my latest glass bobblehead creations.  I thought he would be fun to make in glass with his big hat and his hand in his uniform.

Currently he resides in Pismo Fine Art Glass gallery.  And yes, his head truly bobbles and mais oui, he is "available".  He has not yet met his Josephine.

Resemblance Coincidence?

VS.

Resemblance coincidence?
I think not.

Who knew that cats could have accessorizing similarities to humans?   (I think our cheeks are shaped similarly too!)

Happy Monday!

Easter Bunny Donates Body

Happy Easter!
Emily Stoneking's The Crafty Hedgehog shop on Etsy is always a delight.  But this Bunny Who Donated His Body to Science really makes me laugh.

Wishing you a day of peace, love and jelly beans...

Give Me A Head with Hair

All I can say is someone has a great sense of humor.  And in the same breath, I'm glad he's not my child.

There's a humorous blog out there, that will get you smiling.  It's the hair hall of fame blog.  If you have a few minutes, it's worth reading for a few laughs.  I like it as much as the People of WalMart.  And read down the page.   It can be a little rude, but worth the wicked grin.

And if you want your own personal laugh, go to http://www.yearbookyourself.com.  You take your face and fit it into their hairstyles from different years.  This is me with a 1966 hairstyle.  You should have seen the others!!

See you tomorrow.

This One Has Talent!

I love this dog!  Watch the video here.  He not only plays the piano, but he also sings along.  Anyone else have a dog that is supremely talented? I'd love to hear about it.

I Tried It At Home

As someone who uses a torch, this hoodie resonated just a bit.  Here is a link to their tee shirts, so if you makes you laugh like it does me, you can get it too.

ps...I haven't quite had that same experience....yet.

Cross Country Snowboarding- Need a Laugh?

If you need a funny, tongue in cheek moment, watch this youtube video on cross country snowboarding. This pair had me dying of laughter. And listen to them "rock the triple entendre". Their Segway jousting (I think that concept looks like fun) on another video has its funny moments too.

Renewing Vowels- Funny

I was supposed to be in Cape May NJ this weekend for a wedding, but the weather kept us from flying in. (darn it). In honor of our missed appearance, enjoy this comic. It makes me laugh.

They Ought To Know Better

Looking kind of crabby, if you ask me.

I'm just amazed the photographer caught two at the beach. I thought smoking was off limits there too. Luckily, he didn't catch their empty beer bottles in the shots too. That could be really embarrassing. See you tomorrow!

Cicadas Ninja Fighting

I'm sure you've been wondering what cicadas look like when they're ninja fighting on a cucumber........ now you know.

I'm guessing that's why they're so noisy around here at night. I bet that's more of them cheering the combatants on.

...and thanks to Alex the glass artist who made this vignette for our amusement.

I Like Some Spam

Now I haven't gone as far as joining the Spam Fan Club, but there was something calling to me to make the can of classic Spam into a a lampwork glass focal bead.

I admit, I ate it once in a while when I was a kid. It was what a lot of kids ate along with Tang, the drink that Astronauts took to the Moon.

And I understand that Spam is served in Hawaii pretty often too. I say, good for them, if they enjoy it.

But for me, I just made it because it makes me smile whenever I look at it.
Hopefully this Spam bead makes you smile too.

ps, don't forget, when writing on glass, case your stringer with transparent glass, so there's more separation between the letters.

See you tomorrow!

Some Days It's So Ugly, You Just Have to Laugh

Have you ever started out making a bead and just not have it turn out as you intended?

Meet my scary Christmas frog.  Holy cow, this one is a doozy.  Not only is he ugly, but he's quite large too.

I am not sure what was going through my head when I thought a frog with a Santa hat would be fun to make.  I think part of it was the color juxtaposition of the green frog playing against the red hat.  And I wanted to try the horizontal line for his eyes.  Well as you can see, the glass experiment got out of hand.  I have more photos shown in my etsy shop listing.  I listed him because there might be someone else who would enjoy laughing at him too.

Too large, really funny looking, not shaped right and a huge pink tongue sticking out.  I don't know how I missed adding a bug or a Christmas candy to the end of it.  But in the end, this bead really makes me giggle.  Yes, he's funny looking, but some days my beads are so ugly, I just have to laugh.   Have you ever made a bead that affected you that way?

And who knows, if the right person kisses him, maybe he'll turn into a Prince?
