Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?
Hey, before I get started on Bead Soup... to all my new jewelry making friends- please friend me on facebook. I love seeing what everyone is making. "Marcy Lamberson"
Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following:
~ A focal
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
Laura, of Stick Lizard Designs on Etsy was my Bead Soup partner. We sent each other packets of beads - including a focal, clasp and lots of wonderful beads and findings for in between. This necklace was what I made with my wonderful combination from Laura.
Originally, I strung all of her beads together on a simple memory wire strand and liked them like that. But because we were told to stretch ourselves, I took it a step farther to make links and add in some of my sculptural lampwork into a longer necklace.
Although I like the face framed by the heart in this photo, the heart itself was a little heavy for the second necklace. I'm saving it for another project where it can be the star. But I have to say, I'm in love with the face focal.
Thank you so much Laura for the great new beads, very different colors than what I normally work with and the new friendship. And of course, big thanks to Lori Anderson for all of Bead Soup. What a joy it has been.
Come see what the rest of us made!
